The Medieval Portuguese |
|
The Portuguese army of the late Middle Ages was an effective combination of heavy and medium cavalry, plus a stout core of spear and crossbow-armed infantrymen. Hardly ever defeated by their Castillan neighbours and seasoned by continuous fight with the Moroccans, the Portuguese soldiers were amongst Medieval Europe's best. Some of the guys shown here are actually historical charaters, starting with the SCo and FCo. |
